Martin Luther, John Calvin, Charles Spurgeon, George Whitefield, William Tyndale, John Wesley. What did these great preachers and theologians of the past have in common? They all believed, spoke, and wrote about a post-tribulation rapture. The doctrine of a pre-tribulational rapture was unknown to them. So where did the idea of a pretribulational rapture originate, why has it become so popular in North America, and what does the Bible really say about the end times? First, if the Bible indeed teaches of a rapture near the end of the tribulation period, then Christians need to be prepared for severe persecution.
